Step 1: Reach Guwahati

Start by reaching Guwahati, which is well connected by air, rail, and bus services. Choose the mode of travel that suits you best.

Step 2: Guwahati to Tezpur

From Guwahati, take NH27 (previously NH15) to reach Tezpur. This journey is about 180 km and takes approximately 4-5 hours. Regular bus services and taxis are available for this route.

Step 3: Tezpur to Bhalukpong

Proceed from Tezpur to Bhalukpong via NH13 (previously NH229). The journey covers approximately 68 km and takes around 2-2.5 hours. Bhalukpong is the entry point to Arunachal Pradesh, and you will need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for entry.

Step 4: Bhalukpong to Dirang

Continue along NH13, passing through Bomdila to reach Dirang. This route is approximately 160 km and takes around 5-6 hours due to mountain roads. Enjoy the scenic mountain views throughout the journey.

  • Total journey time: 11-14 hours
  • Best to start early in the morning from Guwahati
